Police Search For Vehicle Stolen In Newtown

Newtown police asking the public for help locating the person responsible for stealing a vehicle from an area home.

The vehicle, a 2017 silver Honda CRV was stolen from Indian Hill Lane sometime during the overnight hours between Wednesday, Jan. 15 and Thursday, Jan. 16. 

Other recent crimes included:

  • Several mailboxes on Crabapple Lane were vandalized overnight on Saturday, Jan. 11. According to police, the mailboxes were ripped out of the ground and thrown on the property or moved to another location.
  •  The department also reported several unlocked vehicles were entered overnight on Thursday, Jan. 9 on Horseshoe Ridge with numerous items stolen.

Arrests:

  • Paul Berard, 53, of Newtown, was arrested for DUI and failure to maintain lane following a vehicle stop on Monday, Jan. 13.

As always, police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles and remove all valuables, including key fobs.
